We love calling out corporations on any smarmy business practices. Today we're echoing David Pogue of the New York Times who's calling out cellphone carriers that force callers to listen to those mind-numbing 15-second canned messages that go something like this: "At the tone, please record your message. When you have finished recording, you may hang up, or press 1 for more options. To leave a callback number, press 5." From Duke University comes AdViews, a growing online archive of television commercials that date from the 1950s to the 1980s.
