CMA and Proliance Orthopedic Associates (POA) have a longstanding marketing relationship. Recently, POA decided that they wanted to update their website (which CMA originally built in 2009). POA needed a mobile-friendly responsive design and better SEO features as well as a backend cross-referencing system that would automatically sync doctors with their medical specialties, practice locations, and patient testimonials.
We recommended switching their content management system from Joomla to a more user-friendly WordPress platform. There are many benefits to open source WordPress websites, including better search rankings and easier content management.
CMA’s website development department set to work designing a clean, attractive site with clear navigation and an easy-to-use system for booking online appointments. The new site includes a bold homepage slider that showcases feature images and calls to action. CMA also created an integrated backend system that dynamically manages doctor specifics. Gone are the days of updating information on four different pages. Now changes to doctor information update site-wide by checking a few boxes in the backend. Site visitors are ensured accurate information throughout the site.
In addition to easier content management, POA has also benefited from rising search rankings and more traffic from mobile users. WordPress’ Yoast plug-in makes updating SEO information easy. In our experience, Google simply responds better to WordPress sites. Ongoing metadata updates and regular blog posts keep Google re-indexing the website and boosting rankings.
Finally, with mobile search rising worldwide, responsive design is essential for a modern business website. CMA produced a mobile-friendly experience that is simple to navigate across handheld devices. We know first-hand that POA is getting more mobile traffic because we have always monitored their web traffic, search rankings, and appointment conversions with our Peak Analytics system.
